Particulars of Organization, Functions and Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]
1. Objectives/Purpose of the authority:
i.Collection of land revenue in the interest of the "fisc
ii. to protect the Government land from illegal encroachment in the hands of the land grabbers and mischief mongers.
iii. To implement the Government policies relating to land.
iv. Maintenance of Law & Order.
v. Disposal of various types of revenue cases in a time bound manner.
vi. Solution of land related disputes through regular camp courts.
vii. Providing error free certified copies of ROR to the applicant.
viii. Providing land to the landless and homesteadless persons as per law.
ix. Protection and settlement of sairat sources.
x. Issue of Misc. certificates to the eligible applicant within the time span prescribed by the misc. certificate & caste certificates rules.
xi. To reach the people at the time of natural clamities in the process of rescue , relief & rehabilitation measures.
xii. To furnish various land related data to the Govt. for formulation of agrarian policy of the state.
2. Mission/Vision Statement of the Public Authority:
i. collection of land revenue over & above the target fixed by the Govt.
ii. Digitization of Revenue maps
iii. Issue of online RORs
iv. Issue of Computerised Misc. Certificates
v. Supply of error free RORs
vi. Issue of Land Pass Book.
vii. Timely correction and issue of RORs after disoosal of various types of Revenue Cases.
viii. Speed disposal of grievance petitions in a time bound manner.
ix. timely issue of various types of Misc. Certificates such as Resident Certificate, Income Certificate, Caste Certificate, Legal heir Certificate, Solvency certificate etc.
x. complete removal of encroachment from Govt. land
xi. Providing land to the land-less and homestead-less persons.
3. Duties of the Public authority:
i. To act as the nodal officer for collection of land revenue and to supervise the collection made by the R.Is and RS from time to time.
ii. To hold collection camps to collect land revenues for will ful and habitual defaulters.
iii. Maintenance of RORs finally published by the Settlement & consolidation authorities being empowered by the section 16 of the OS&S Act 1958 and the rules framed thereunder.
iv. To entertain and dispose various types of mutation cases instituted under rule 34 of OS&S Rules 1962 and para 17 (I) of the mutation manual.
a) OEA claim cases under the provision of OEA Act, 1951
b) OEa Lease cases instituted on the strength of various Govt. circulars.
c) Settlement of land under the provision of the OGLS Act 1973 including inter departmental transfer of Govt. land.
d) Settlement of land in the names of homestead less and landlessness persons following the rules under OPLE Act, 1972.
e) Disposal of mutation cases under Rule 34 (e) of the OS&S Rules, 1962
f) disposal of certificate cases.
g) Disposal of Misc. Certificates
h) Disposal of cases u/s 8A, 19(I) ( C ) & 15 ( I) ( d ) of the OLR Act,
vi. Settlement of various sairat sources under the provisions of OMMC Rules, 2004
vii. Realisation of certificate dues by exercising powers as conferred by OPDR Act, 1962.
viii. It is the responsibility of Tahasildar to collect water tax as land revenue being the Irrigation Officer under the provisions of the Irrigation Act, 1959.
ix. At the time of Natural Calamities, Tahasildar is one of the most important field functionaries in the process rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures.
x. To give necessary parawise comments to G.P and A.G for filing in court of laws to protect the interest of Govt.
xi. Maintenance of law and order
xii. Inquest of dead bodies as required u/s 174 of Cr. PC 1973.
xiii. At the time of census operation the Tahasildar has to discharge all the functions of charge Officer.

viii. Solution of land related disputes through regular camp courts
ix. Immediate distribution of relief miaterials to the fire victims
