Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aim and Objectives of the Organization:

To save Forest and Wildlife and improvement Tiger Reserve through various type of department works.

2. Mission / Vision:

To provide access, retention and improvement of Forests and Wildlife.

3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:

This Division has been established during the year 1985 and with head quarter at Angul. The Divisional Forest Officer, Satkosia (WL) Division having over lapping jurisdiction over Sanctuary portions of Angul, Athmallik, Athgarh, Boudh and Nayagarh Territorial Divisions.

Asst, Conservator of Forests.

The ACF attached to a Division will assist the DFO Satkosia (WL) in his management of the Division as may be required of him under provisions at this code. He shall inspect the check Naka stations as frequently as possible and shall submit his findings to the DFO, Satkosia (WL)

Forest Ranger in charge of Wildlife Range as per page 18 of the OFD code Rule 33

i) He should have full knowledge of the funna and their habitat and must know the provisions prescribed for the protection and management of Wildlife within his Jurisdiction. He is responsible for the protection of funna and their habitat in his charge and should see that the provision of Wildlife protection Act 1972 and Rules framed there under are properly implemented.

 

 

 

 

 

Forester as per Rule 29 of the OFD code

To assist the RO to the best of his ability in carrying out the work of the department honestly and efficiently and also carryout the orders of the Superiors.

Forest Guard as per rule 30 of the OFD

It is the Forest Guard duty, guards tio see that the provision under Wildlife Protection Act and Rules framed there under are observed and to put a stop to illegal shooting and trapping.
