Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

Aim and Object of the Organization:

Panchayat Samiti, Rajkanika in the middle tier under 3- tier PRI system with the objective of Panchayat Samiti act. 1959.

Panchayat samiti is implementing different poverty alleviation scheme to uprange the socio economic condition of the rural mass. It has the roof responsibility to utilize resources for elimination of poverty.

Mission/ Vision:

Eradication of poverty and launching of development works strengthening of democratic set up from the village level.

Brief History and Background for its Establishment:

Panchayat Samiti Rajkanika has been constituted under section- 16 of the Panchayat Samiti act- 1959 afer constitution of Rajkanika Block under constitution of Rajkanika Block under section 15 of the said act.

The Panchayat Samiti Rajkanika has been functioning from 01.04.1958 Now it spreads over 29 Gram Panchayats.

Implementation of rural employment and poverty alleviation programmes like NREGS, SGSY, IAY and others,

Duties to be Performed to Achieve the Mission:

Planning execution and monitoring of different programmes mainly self employment, wage employment of rural housing

Details of Service Rendered:

To extend employment opportunity, housing facilities including wage employment to BPL families.

Interaction with People:

The Pallisbha and Gramsabha are the important instrument for selection of projects and beneficiaries in the democratic system. The G.P.body corporate are principal organization at the grass root level to involve the people in the process.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

Decisions are taken as per the approval action plans of respective schemes by competent authority. Administrative function are carried out as per executive instructions and guidelines. The channels of supervisions is through the general body of the Panchayat Samiti, Standing Committees and other committees.

 

The B.D.O, Addl. B.D.O, Asst. Engineer are burdened with supervisions.
