1. Brief History & Background of its Establishment:
Ranihat High School, Ranihat, Cuttack is a Government Education Institution imparting education in High school level. This institution is one of the oldest institutions in our state. It was founded in the year 1926 in primary level. In the year 1930 it became a full fletched high school. It has been imparting teaching Humanities, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, etc. The main objective of this institution is to disseminate knowledge to the students in different fields. Simultaneously this institution also aims at all round development such as physically, mentally and morally. Games and Sports play a dynamic role in inspiring the students to be physically fit. The NCC particularly the Naval Wing and Army Wing provide the excellent discipline to he students. There are also many societies and associations related to social services and cultural programme. There is also Scout and Guide wing in school

This is a Govt. Co-education High School. The Headmaster along with senior Teachers takes decisions in various matters. There are different committees like, Admission Committee, Examination Committee, Pooja, Furniture, Sports and Financial aid Committee etc. as per the Government rules.

Boards, Councils, Committees & Other Bodies Constituted
[Section-4 (1) (b) (viii)]
As per the directions of the Govt. of Odisha and order No.767, Dt. 11.01.2011 of the Inspector of School etc. Circle Cuttack the SMDC (School Management & Development Committee) was formed on 16.04.2011. The president and Chairman was the headmaster of he institution. The committee consists of 16 members out of which one member will be nominated by the Inspector of schools, three members were approved by DPC Cuttack. Two Councilors from two different wards of the CMC. One SC/ST member, one group member (Women) one VEC member (Women) one from male parents & one from female parents or the students of the school were elected.
SMC: It is another committee formed as per the resolution No.17/25.02.2011. This is known as school management committee. It consists of seven members including the headmaster. The president is regarded to the supreme in whose directions the repairing work, dresses and mid Day meals will be effective. She has to issue cheques to the various organizations.
