Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

   Bari Panchayat Samiti has been functioning since 1962. It is an intermediary Body of 3-tyre Panchayat Raj institution, established through enactment of legislation i.e. Odisha Panchayat Samiti Act 1959. As an institution of self Govt. betterment of rural life is the main aim and objective of the Organization. This Institution is instrument in bringing change in rural areas.

2. Mission/ Vision:

a. To provide necessary assistance as per Govt. scheme and programme to the rural poor people for their better living.

b. For implemention of Govt. schemes & programme for development of rural poor.

3. Brier history and back ground for its establishment:

This block started functioning w.e.f consisting of 29 Gps and 106 numbers of revenue villages (98 inhabitable).

4. Allocation of Business:

a. Chairman: The head of the Panchayat Samiti.

b. B.D.O: The executive officer of the samiti. To supervise and monitor implementation of wage employment anti-poverty programme.

5. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:

a. To plan and execute development programmes, schemes relating to community development.

b. Control, spread and management of primary education in the block area.

c. Management, control of the public distribution.

d.To provide social security to weaker section.

e. To provide wage employment with the goal of reducing unemployment and under employment to negligible level and to provide food security against hunger and to creat durable a assets.
