Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1) About the Organization:

   Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya (Govt. Women's Degree College), Dhenkanal & Govt. Women's Jr. College, Dhenkanal function in the same premises & serve as premier Educational Institutes for Women Education in Central Odisha. The Degree College was established on 13.8.1975 and it is affiliated to Utkal University. The Govt Women's Jr. College to its shape from the session 2001-2002. This College is affiliated to CHSE Odisha. The Degree College imparts teaching facilities in Humanities and Social Sciences and the Jr. College extends teaching facilities in Humanities and Sciences. The main objective of this Institution is to disseminate knowledge to the students in different fields. Simultaneously this Institution also aims at the overall development of the students physical, mental and moral. Regular Seminars, Extramural Lectures and Career Counseling are organized time to time for the betterment of the students. Games and Sports are also an integral part of this institution which inspires the students to be physically fit. There are also many societies and associations related to social services and cultural programmes. NSS & Red Cross etc. incite vigour, enthusiasm and feeling of national integration amongst the students. This college also publishes an annual multilingual magazine to develop creativity in them.

   Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dhenkanal has been accredited at the B+ level on 21.05.2006 by the Executive Committee of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission on the recommendation of the duly appointed Per Team comprising of Prof. A.K. Pandey and Prof. P.S Subhash.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1) What is the Procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).

    This is a Non-Government autonomous college and the Principal of the college takes decisions in various matters having discussions with different committees like, Admission Committee, Examination Committee, Purchase Committee and Financial aid Committee etc. as per the Government rules/ University rules/ UGC guide lines.

Norms for Discharge of Functions

    Any letter, Public application, proposal received from Government Public Individual, Students and staff are being entered in the diary register and referred to concerned sections. Officers in Charge, Committees for examination and submission of the compliance in the related files. The file duly routed through the different Officers in Charge/ Bursars/ Vice-Principal/ Controller of Examination/ Heads of the concerned Departments are put up before the Principal for approval/ sanctions after which being dispatched with number and date.
