Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Objectives/purpose of the Public Authority:

          The O.S.A.P. 7^th Bn. personnel are provide security coverage to Residence of Hon’ble C.M, Reserve Bank of India, Lingaraj Temple. Beside this, force personnel  are deployed especially for Car festival duty at Puri, Dasahara and Kalipuja etc. at Twin City Cuttack-Bhubaneswar,Assembly duty,Law & Order Duty and Security to VVIPs under the State of Odisha. This unit personnelsare being deputed to different state of India for election duty, where they performed the duties very efficiently. 

2. Mission/Vision statement of Public Authority:

          To maintain law & Order as per the directives of State Police Headquarters, Cuttack / Commissionerate Police Hdqrs, Bhubaneswar.

3. Brief History:

The OSAP 7^th Battalion was created vide Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar Order No.-OMP-74-75/355/P, dated 04.01.1975 and became operational on 03.02.1975 with its temporary location at Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar.

          After completion of the construction work, the Battalion shifted to the present location at Gajapati Nagar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar. As per State Govt. Notification No. 60909/D&A Bhubaneswar dated 28.12.2007, the Battalion is functioning under the Administrative Control of Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack

4. Duties of the Public Authority:

          The Head of the office is designated as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Armed) who is the public Authority as per R.T.I. Act, 2005. Deployment of force as per the direction of Commissioner of Police/State Police Hdqrs. is the major task of the Public Authority. Besides internal administration of the Battalion/management of force are also coming under the purview of the Public Authority. Deputation of ODRAF Team during natural calamity for rescue and relief is also main responsibility of the Public Authority as desired by higher quarters.

5. Organizational   Structure   Diagram   at   various   levels   namely   State, Directorate, region district, blocks etc. (whichever is applicable):

          It is a single Unit Office with Dy. Commissioner of Police (Armed) as the Head of Office and the office is functioning under administrative control of Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.

6. Mechanism available for monitoring the service delivery and public grievance resolution:

          Public grievance is being heard on every Monday except Govt. Holidays from 10.00 A.M. to 5.30 P.M.
