Lahunipara College, Lahunipara, Dist: Sundargarh owes its origin in the heart of Lahunipara block to inculcate the spirit of Higher education and noble dreams among the youngsters. Its aim and objectives are:-

The vision of the institution is to produce rural youth force of higher talent and morality and to face the future hurdles and uncertainties.

3. Brief History of its Organization:

Lahunipara College, Lahunipara is situated in the Bonai Sub division, in the district of Sundargarh (Odisha). Some dedicated educationists decided to start a second college of Bonai Sub- division during the year 1981-1982. The College was established and got affiliated to Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar Burla, Sambalpur with I.A. classes w.e.f the session 1982-1983. Subsequently, Govt. accorded concurrence of Higher secondary classes in Arts with sanctioned strength of 128 w.e.f the academic session 1986-87. Science stream of Higher secondary classes was opened from the session 2000-2001 with sanctioned strength of 64 seats.

This college situated 15 kms away from Bonai. The college has been redesignated as Lahunipara Junior college, Lahunipara by the Dept. Of Higher Education(O) Bhubaneswar, and has been assigned the college code number 30042101.

Since its inception the college has been a centre of learning for imparting higher education at I.A. classes and the Higher Secondary classes, to the children primarily belonging to S.C, S.T and economically backward families of the locality, its adjacent area's and boarder area of District Sundargarh not with standing the improper and insufficient building and infrastructure problems. At present the college has succeeded in maintaining the academic atmosphere in the college in a befitting manner.
