Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Brief History of the Public Authority:

The College was established in the year 1978 as Narasinghpur College, Narasinghpur in the district of Cuttack recognized by the Govt. in the Dept. of Higher Education and Affiliated to CHSE, Odisha and UTKAL University, Bhubaneswar. Being established under Registration of Society Act , it is a NAAC Accredited college which has been functioning to achieve its goal towards quality assurance.

2. Aim & Objectives of the Public Authority:

To provide access of qualitative higher education to the rural students.
Disseminate knowledge to the students in Arts, Science and Commerce at higher education level.
To promote values in the students.
To promote higher education of rural girls.

3. Strength of the Public Authority:

The college has streams like Arts , Science, Commerce along with vocational course at +2 level with a student strength of 1728. The affiliated optional subjects in Arts are Political Science, History, Economics, Odia, Sanskrit, Education, Sociology, Geography, in Science are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and in Commerce are Accountancy, Business Mathematics & Statistics, Computer Application, Business studies . As per the Govt. instruction the teaching of Yoga and Environmental Education has been introduced for all the students in order to develop physical, Mental and Social character.

4. Duties of the Principal:

Administration of the College.
Management of College Office, Meetings and examinations.
Supervision of Activities of Students, Teachers, other employees and all the Curricular and Co- Curricular activities of the college.
Coordination between College and College Governing Body (G.B.), College and the Govt., College and the Public/ Parents and Teaching the Students.

5. Main Activities/ Functions of the Principal:

Collection of educational policy documents, circulars of Government/ University/ CHSE, Odisha., courses, teaching aids, books, etc.
Admission of students, distribution of powers/ charges among the staff, conducting.
Supervising different curricular and co-curricular activities, conduct of seminars, workshops, exams.
Establishing relationship with the Public, the Govt./ University/ CHSE, Odisha.

6) List of Services being provided by the Public Authority:

Providing qualitative higher education to the students of the area.
Teaching the students directly.
Making arrangement for stipend/scholarship for poor and meritorious students of the area.

8) Expectation of the Public Authority from the public for enhancing its Effectiveness and Efficiency:

To co-operate the process of running the college towards better development of the college.

9) Arrangements and methods made for seeking Public Participation/ Contribution:

Conduct of Parents-cum-public meetings.
Inviting the public to the college-functions/ important events/ observation of important Days.
Correspondence through letters (informing parents about the performance of the students).

10) Mechanism available for Monitoring the Service Delivery and Public Grievance Resolution:

Public Grievance is settled with the help of College Advisory Board, College Governing Body, and College Grievance Cell.
