Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]
1. Aim & Objectives of the Organization:
i) To increase the Production & Productivity per unit area.
ii) To increase the economic standard of the farmers.
2. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
The Deputy Director of Agriculture office, Nuapada was established on 20.9.2010 at Nuapada. The D.D.A office consist of the following staff.
i) Deputy Director of Agriculture
ii) Asst. Agril. Officer (Hqr) Nuapada
iii) Agriculture Overseer-2 Nos. in Govt. Seed Farm, Khariar/ 2 Nos. on deployment
iv) Village Agriculture Worker-Contractual- one on deployment.
v) Senior Clerk- one on deployment
vi) Junior Clerk- one on deployment
vii) Peon & Watcher - 2 Nos. Peon and one watcher on deployment
3. Allocation of Business:
It is simply an extension Organization.
4. Duties to be preformed to achieve the Mission:
No mission/ Vision can be achieved without proper organizational planning, coordination and execution of the same at field level. Thats why the departmental field functionaries have been doing their duties at field level basing on T & V system. Once in a fortnight the field level staff such as VAWs/ L.VAWs, A.Os and AAOs are being trained and sensitized at block level by departmental specialists and other higher officers regarding latest technical know how with regular field visits form time to time followed by review of progress and achievement on departmental Programmes.
5. Details of Services Rendered:
VAWs/ LVAWs/ AOs:
i) Organise and mobilize farming communities.
ii) Conduct demonstration/ trails/ minikits at various location as per allotment.
iii) Conduct village meeting to desiminate Lab. to Land technologies.
iv) Create awareness on various schemes.
v) Supply field information as and when required.
Asst. Agril. Officers:
i) To Conduct farmers meeting & training at village level along with the VAWs, LVAWs and A.O concerned.
ii) To execute all departmental programmes under different schemes at G.P./ village level through the concerned field staff.
iii) To conduct Bi-weekly training & review meeting of VAWs, LVAWs and A.Os at regular intervals
iv) Attend Block level and Sub-divisional meeting as and when called for.
v) To ensure all kinds of report returns as and when asked for.
vi) Act as BTT Convenor under ATMA, Nuapada
Input Personnel:
Post is vacant but AAO(Hqr) Nuapada with AO, Sadar is looking after the supply of Agril. Inputs to the district.
i) To ensure the supply of quality seeds other agricultural inputs (if provided for Supply to the Sale centres and other dumping points)
ii) Realization of sale proceeds from the sale centres in charges against supply or sale of different inputs
iii) AAO (Hqr) Khariar is kept in charge of DPD(Hqr) RKVY, NFSM and ATMA scheme (deputed for 2 days every week) A.A.O.(Hqr) Nuapada is kept in charge of rest of the section not assigned to DPDC (ATMA) DDA he is overall in Charge of Agriculture Deptt. And sees the
iv) Supervision, Monitoring, Establsihment & Grievance matter and DDO of this office.
Soil Chemist:
Soil chemist Kalahandi is in charge of soil testing laboratory, Nuapada has not strated testing of Soil sample.
Farm Overseer:
He is the overall In-charge of Agril. Seed farm Khariar
