Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objection of the Organisation:

a. To provide Health Services to Public in its Jurisdiction I.e. Khurda, Nayargarh, Puri & Kandhamal District.
b.
To establish Herbal Garden in the Dispensary compound as well as in the court yard of public by cultivating medicinal plants.
c.
To create awareness on health activities.

2. Mission/ Vision:

a. To create awareness among the local people to use general medicinal plants for treatment of common diseases.
b.
To create awareness among local people by conducting health awareness programme
c.
To create Herbal garden in each dispensary compound as well as 8n the court yard of people.
d.
To make research work on treatment of fatal diseases like Aids. Dengo, Hepatitis B, Swain Flue, Cancer etc.

3. Brief History & Background for its establishment:

   As citizens of the state have accepted the Ayurvedic & Unani Medicines for treatment of various diseases & as these medicines are comparative cheaper but effective the state Govt. has opened many Ayurvedic & Unani Dispensaries under its jurisdiction to be function under Health & Family Welfare Department. In order of smooth management a Directorate namely Director of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Odisha has been established. The office is functioning under the control of Directorate. Presently under this Circle office 76 Nos. Ayurvedic Dispensaries & one Unani Dispensary are functioning under its jurisdiction i.e. in Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri & Kandhamal Districts.

4. Allocation of Business:

   To meet all expenses viz. Salary, Non Salary, Medicines etc. the Budget Estimate Revised Budget Estimate are submitted to Director of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Odisha & the Directorate allots funds accordingly for this office. The activities, programmes & business of this circle are implemented by the Inspector of Ayurveda & its subordinate office I.e. Ayurvedic Medical officers of various dispensaries.

5. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:

a. All Ayurvedic/ Unani Medical officers & all Ayurvedic/ Unani assistants are discharging their duties & responsibilities punctually y at their respective Dispensary to provide health services to general public.
b. Regularly the Inspectorate is taking steps to initiate Health Camps, Health awareness programmes in each Districts at regular intervals to achieve the mission
c.
At present 77 AMOs/ UMOs & 3 LRAMOs providing Primary health care services to the people through using Ayurvedic/ Unani Medicines in 77 Dispensaries.

6. Details of Services Rendered:

a. Treatment of patients & providing medicines for such treatment.
b
. Conducting Health Camp at regular intervals at various places in each District.
c.
Conducting Health awareness programmes at regular intervals at various places in each Districts.

7. Citizens interactions:

a. Indian system of Medicines popularly known as "Avurveda" alongwith Unani Medicines have the heritage of commonly acceptance by the people of the state because of its popularity of having no side effect. Ayurvedic/ Unani system of medicines catering health care services to the citizens of the state have accepted Ayurvedic, Unani Medicines for their indigenous & effective treatments. Such type of treatment is comparatively cheaper in comparison to other system of treatment.
b. Positive suggestions, grievances of citizens are taken care of & also are mitigated.
