ii) ICS:

   Improvement of Crop Statistics (ICS) is a centrally sponsored scheme designed to locate deficiencies in implementation of EARAS scheme relating to area and yield statistics through joint effort of central and state authorities.

iii) F & V Survey:

   This is a centrally sponsored programme with 100 % central assistance. The scheme designed to build up reliable estimates on Area, Yield Rate and Production of selected fruits and Vegetables Viz. Mango, Banana, and Cabbage, Cauliflower, Onion, and Turmeric etc.

iv) NSS:

   The scheme aims at conducting survey on socio-economic problems of National Importance on sample survey method. The state govt. conducts the survey on matching sample basis through the Directorate of Economics & Statistics. The field work is carried out by Primary Investigator (PI) and the Statistical Assistant posted in the district.

v) VICS (Village Index Card System):

   The scheme is in operation in our state since 1973-74. The scheme aims to build up a village wise data base to enable the planner to prepare realistic plan at micro level. Presently 5th round of VICS work is in progress.

vi) Price Statistics:

   The objective of the scheme is to collect the wholesale and retail price data from selected market which supplements the need for compilation of State Income. Under the scheme price data are collected in pre-devised format by the SSFIs/ SFIs posted in the field.

vii) Urban Local Body Statistics:

   Under this scheme data on health, water supply, income and expenditure, education in the local body area is collected with a view to bring out the publication of "Municipal Statistical year Book". Data on supra-mentioned aspects are collected from all the urban local bodies of the district.

viii) District Statistical hand Book (DSHB):

   Data on 23 tables on different socio economic interest are collected from secondary sources in pre-devised tables and sent to the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Odisha, Bhubaneswar to bring out the "District Statistical Hand Book". It is published on bi-yearly basis. District Statistical hand Book is a handy book encapsuled with data on socio economic interest which are immensely useful to planners, researchers, stateman, administrators, visitors, etc.

   Each District Statistical Office is headed by the District statistical Officer and supported by a fleet of technical staff, Viz., Statistical Investigator, Statistical Assistant, Primary Investigator. The field operation for aforesaid work is carried out by Statistical Field Surveyor under the direct supervision of Sr. Statistical Field Inspector/ Statistical Field Inspector posted in the field level.
