Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Brief History & Background of its Organization:

Rural Works Division-II, Jajpur at Jaraka under Rural Development Department, Government of Odisha has been created from 27.11.2007. Rural works Division-II, Jajpur at Jaraka under Rural Development Department, Government of Odisha has been jurisdiction under 02 (Two) assembly constituency i.e., Dhamasala & Badachana of Jajpur district & part of Bari, Korei of Jajpur District. It looks after the repair maintenance, Improvement, Construction of Rural Roads, bridges and Culverts under R.D. Department in rural Areas. It takes construction and repair works of Government. Building situated in rural areas and borne in the book of Rural Development organisation as per availability of funds.

There are 87 Nos. of roads having length of 593.322 Km out of which BT-284.565 Km, MT- 13.539 Km, MSB-14.689 Km, Earthen-100.339 Km, Cement Concrete- 173.080 Km, major CD-51 Nos. and minor CD-549 Nos., in 3 Nos. of blocks. There are many small bridges and culvert works were taken up to give all weather road facilities for development of the Socio-Economic condition of the rural people.

2. Mission/ Vision:

To improve, construct, repair and restoration of these roads, buildings, bridges and culverts, this division receives funds from different sources i.e., State Plan, Non-Plan, NABARD, MPLAD/ MLALAD/ Deposit/  PMGSY & ADB Assisted PMGSY. According to the availability of the funds in a year the works are taken up accordingly on priority basis to give benefit to the Rural Public. There are 227 nos. of Non-Residential building having plinth area 123276.53 sqm. and 149 nos. of Residential buildings having plinth area 20099.45 sqm.

It takes construction and repair works of minor and major bridge works. Under NABARD Assistance (RIDF) Scheme 6 Nos. of major bridges were taken-up out of which 2 Nos. of bridges work were completed & balance 4 Nos. bridge works are in progress & under PMGSY head there is 2 Nos. major bridge which was completed.

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY):

Rural works Division-II, Jajpur at Jaraka has taken up PMGSY from 2000-2001. The aim of the programme is to give connectivity to the unconnected habitation having population more than 1000, more than 500 & more than 250. There are Three numbers of blocks under Jajpur district. Under the jurisdiction of the Rural Works Division-II, Jajpur at Jaraka.

The work under PMGSY of this Division:-

i. PMGSY Phase-I: There are 11 Nos. of road in 3 Nos. of packages, all the work completed and final bill paid.

ii. PMGSY Phase-II: There are 4 Nos. of road in 3 Nos. of packages, all the work completed and final bill paid.

iii. PMGSY Phase-III (Part-I): There are 3 Nos. of road in 1 No. of packages, all the work completed and final bill paid.

iv. PMGSY Phase-III (Part-II): There are 2 Nos. of road in 1no package all the work completed & final bill paid.

v. PMGSY Phase-IV: There are 2 Nos. of road in 1 No. of packages, all the work completed & final bill paid.

vii. PMGSY Phase-V: There are 9 Nos. of road in 6 Nos. of packages, all the work completed & final bill paid.

viii. PMGSY Phase-VI: There are 8 Nos. of road in 5 Nos. of packages, all the work completed & final bill paid.

ix. ADB Assisted PMGSY Batch-I: There are 3 nos. of road in 3 nos. of packages, all the work completed and 2 nos. of road final bill paid.

x. PMGSY Phase-VII: There as 25 Nos. of road in 16 nos of packages, all the work completed & final bill paid.

xi. PMGSY Phase-VIII: There are 21 Nos. road in 20 Nos. of packages, 19 Nos. road work is completed, 2 Nos. road work is in progress. Final bill paid for 16 Nos. of packages.

xii.ADB Assisted PMGSY Tranche-I: There are 9 Nos. of road in 9 Nos. of packages, 7 Nos. of road work is completed, 2 Nos. road work is in progress. Final bill paid for 4 Nos. of packages.

xiii. PMGSY Phase-XII: There are 17 Nos. of road in 17 Nos. of packages, 9 Nos. of road work is completed & 8 Nos. of road work is in progress. Final bill paid for 9 Nos. of packages.

xx. ADB Assisted PMGSY Tranche-III: There are 4 Nos. of road in 4 Nos. of packages, 1 No. of road work is completed & 3 Nos. of road work is in progress.
