Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aims and Objective of the Organization:
In the 3 Tier Panchayati Raj System, Zilla Parishad is the apex body to plan, prepare and formulate and approve programmes/ projects for implementations in the entire district. Zilla Parishad also monitors implementation of different schemes funded by the State Govt. as well as Central Govt.
2) Mission/ Vision:
To ensure proper implementation of the programmes for all round development of the district.
3) Brief history and back ground of its establishment:
G. P., Sambalpur started functioning on 27.02.1997. President, ZP took oath on 27.02.1997. DRDA, Sambalpur was formed/ established on 07.08.1980 and restructured on 17.03.1997 for implementation and monitoring of Rural development schemes and programmes specifically funded by the Ministry of RD, Govt. of India.
4) Organization Chart:
Zilla Parishad, Sambalpur consists of the following members.
All the district level officers of Line Department related to Zilla Parishad are the ex-officio members of Standing Committee of the Zilla Parishad. There are 7 Standing Committee under the Zilla Parishad as indicated below:
