1. Aim and Objectives of the Organizations:
This is a Wildlife Division. This Hirakud Wildlife Division, sambalpur has been created vide Government Resolution NO.1F(A)-100/2003/13228/ F&E dt.8.8.2003 of Forest and Environment Department with divisional headquarters at Sambalpur. The Division is located near Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Sambalpur. The total geographical area of Hirakud Wildlife Division,Sambalpur is 353.81 Sq. Kms. Since then Protection and development of Wildlife is one of the top priorities in the present scenario to have a positive impact of dwindling environmental conditions.
2. Mission/ Vision:
Other activities like formation of Eco Development Committee are another factor of this division. There are 68 Nos. of Eco Development Committee are existing in Hirakud Wildlife Division, Sambalpur who are actively participating in protection of wildlife and forests also.
3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
The Wildlife Division was managed un-regulating felling and poaching of wild animals MFP was subsequently controlled after creation of Sanctuary.
