Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
(i) To have sustainable kendu leaves production both qualitatively and quantitatively From the territory of Anugul (Kendu leaves) Division. (ii) To generate sustainable enhanced revenue for the State exchequer.(iii) To uplift the social and economic status of rural poor by a) Generating employment of more than 50,000 kenduleaves pluckers, binding laborers, bush cutting laborers etc b) Providing engagement around 1300 seasonal staff belonging to various categories like Head Checkers, Circle Checkers, Checkers, Munshis, Chaparashis, Binding Checker Watchers, temporary drivers etc.
2. Mission/ Vision:
In view of 2020 Vision of the UNO as "A Tobacco free environment by 2020, to have a sustainable qualitative and quantitative production of kenduleaves for use in beedi-making vis-a-vis other alternate use and generate revenue with social and economic up-liftment of the rural poor.
3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
After nationalization of Kenduleaves in the State this Division came in to existence during December 1972.
4. Organization Charts:
The Division has got 3 K.L. Sub-Divisions and 10 K.L. Ranges up to the year 1993. After merger of 3 range namely Pallahara East Pallahara West and Khamar. from 1.1.1994, the number of Ranges soared to 13. Again during early 2005, Kartiha K.L. ranges were merged to Talcher K.L. Range reducing the number from thirteen to twelve. The Organizational chart is as follows:-

5. Allocation of Business:
The administrative, Executive and Miscellaneous duties are allocated to Sub-Divisional Forest Officers and Range Officers in respect of their Sub-Divisions and Range jurisdiction.
