Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
The aims and objectives of the Civil Supplies Office is to provide food stuff i.e. Sugar, K.Oil, wheat, Rice, Edible oil etc. at subsidised rate to the poorer classes of Societies.
2. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
This office is functioning since 1.4.1993 after bifurcation from its mother district Balangir having two sub division and six blocks. The Civil supplies Officer is the district level officer of Civil Supplies section/ Wing of Collectorate works under the control of Collector of the district. Similarly as the District Manager of OSCSC Ltd. His functions are specified by the Corporation having its head office at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
3. Allocation of Business:
Duty and business of the office having distributed among the A.C.S.O. and Inspector of Supplies as per rule.
4. Details of Services rendered:
The C.S.O. his provided with a set of staff to assist him execution of the work.
5. Citizens' Interaction:
All the citizens of the district are allowed to meet the C.S.O. and to put forth the problems and get their work done within the ambit of rules and regulations framed for this organization.

7. Map of Office location:
The office is functioning in a rented building at Palace Colony on the bank of Ricer Mahanadi.
8. Working hours both for Office and Public:
From 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. and 7.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. during summer season i.e, 10th April to 10th June of every year. (Except on Govt. holidays & Sundays).
9. Public interaction, if any:
The general public are free to access to come to the office and get their work done and collect any information they required from the officer and staff for all working days.
10. Grievance redress mechanism:
Grievance cell is being conducted centrally by the Collector at the Collectorate on every Saturday (Excepting holidays) where in the C.S.O. regularly present and assist the Collector to redress the grievance of the public relating to PDS matter. More over the general public having any grievance on PDS and procurement of paddy are alert the meet the C.S.O. on working days and even contact over telephone and get their problem redressed.
