Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

Objective/Purpose of the Public Authority:

1) To supervise & administer the works of office of C.S.O. Bargarh as well as the subordinate officers relating to PDS.
2) To implement effective Public distribution system in the district.

 Mission / Vision Statement of the Public Authority:

To see the interest of beneficiaries within the PDS of the district in pursuance to guidelines issued from time to time by Government in FS & CW Department and to ensure the instructions issued by him or any of the Higher Governmental Authority have been carried out accordingly.

Brief History of the Public Authority and context of its Formation:

The Civil supplies Officer is the district level officer of Civil Supplies section/wing of Collectorate works under the Control Collector of the District. Similarly as the District Manager of OSCSC Ltd his functions are specified by the Corporation having its head office at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Duties of the Public Authority:

The Duties of this Public Authority have been enshrined in the following Government orders and letters Nos. issued by Corporation Head Office.
i) GO No. 29448/07.11.1985 of Govt. of FS & CW Deptt.
ii) G.O.No.8226/27.09.1985 of Govt. in FS & CW Deptt.
iii) Notification No.20150/29.07.2000 of Govt. in FS & CW Deptt.
iv) Letter No.PL-IC-14/2000-20013,dt.27.07.200 of Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Govt. FS & CW Deptt.
v) Letter No.4286 (B)/ 21.11.89 of Corporation Heard Office.
vi) Duties as under FDS (Control) Orders 2001 & 2002.
vii) As under E.C. Act 1955 and Civil Supplies manual.

Main Activities/Functions of the Public Authority:

To see the interest of beneficiaries within the PDS of the district in pursuance to guidelines issued from time to time by Government in FS & CW Department and to ensure the instructions issued by him or any of the Higher Governmental Authority have been carried out accordingly.

List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write-up on them:

1 (i) BPL rice each beneficiary of Bargarh Subdivision & Padampur NAC is getting 25 Kg per month Rs. 06.30 per kg.
ii) Each beneficiary of Padmapur Sub-division except Padmapur NAC is getting 9 kg and 16 kg of rice Rs6.30 & Rs 4.75 (SSBPL) per kg respectively per month.
2. A.A.Y.-Each Beneficiary is getting 35 kg of rice Rs 3.00 per kg per month in the district.
3. A.P.-Each beneficiary is getting 10 kg of rice free of Cost per month.
4. Levy Sugar-Each BPL & AAY beneficiary is getting 2kg of sugar Rs 13.50 per kg per month as per the availability of the stock.
5. S.K.Oil -Each APL, PPL, & AAY beneficiary is getting 4 ltrs per month.
6. APL Wheat- it meant for APL beneficiaries 15 kg per card Rs 7.00 as per availability.
