Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1.Objective / Purpose of the Public Authority:
To look after.
1. Procurement
2. Storage
3. Distribution.
4. Enforcement of Essential Commodities for its equitable effective reaches before A.P.L.B.P.L., A.A.Y.&A.P. card holders. The process of distribution of various essential commodities is being managed by interesting responsibilities under certain rules and regulations to the Millers, Storage Agents. K.Oil Wholesalers K.Oil Sub-Wholesalers, Retailers, Petrol and Dissel out lets, L.P.G. distributors and stockiest of other essential commodities viz, Potato, Onion.Vanuspati and Edible Oil etc , so that, these traders can perform under this Organization.
Needless to say that, O. S.C.S.C., Ltd. is the Noda! Agency of State Govt. for procuring and storing of food Grains and other items for its effective availability in order to curb the market price.
On the other hand C.S.O. has also been functioning as Dist. Manager of O.S.C.S.C. Ltd. of the district. Who is procuring the control Commodities for & on behalf of the district for its subsequent distribution.
In connection with above the C.S.O. as public authority is to receive Letters, Applications, Memorandums for different works and to issue instructions to Civil Supplies functionaries at field to sort out the problems and monitoring all type of works relating to Civil Supplies in Blocks/U.L.Bs on behalf of Collector, Jagatsinghpur and disposal of different correspondences as per instruction of Collector under Govt. guide lines.

To render service to the General public as well as subordinate offices as per instructions of Collector and Govt. Guidelines.
3.Brief history of the public authority and context of its formation.
The Civil Supplies Office being one of the sections of Collectorate, Jagatsinghpur since its inception on 01.04.1993.
