Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Duties of the Public Authority:

    The duties of Office of the Asst. Director of Fisheries-Cum-Chief Executive Officer, Fish Farmers Development Agency, Angul (District Fisheries Officer, Angul) given below:

i. To produce quality fish seed and supply to the Fish Farmers of the district.

ii. Prepare project report & sponsor loan applications of fish farmers to different banks for excavation of new tank or renovation of old tank for intensive pisciculture.

iii. Provide subsidy for new tank excavation/old tank renovation/Intensive pisciculture/Integrated fish farming as per Govt. norms.

iv. Taking steps to bring all the water bodies of the district for pisciculture purpose.

v. Providing technical guidance to the Fish Farmers for scientific intensive fish culture through Extension wings, exhibitions, Training to farmers to raise the productivity of fish in the district.

vi. Create new culturable water bodies by providing assistance to the Farmers through F.F.D.A., N.F.D.B., N.R.E.G.A. etc.

vii. Supports to the poor fishermen by providing assistance for Net & Boat with subsidy through Bank Finance for reservoir & capture fisheries scheme & strengthening the socio economic condition of the fishermen by stocking fish seed in Reservoir such as Derjang & Rengali Reservoir.

viii. Strengthening the Primary Fishermen Co-operative Societies of the district & look after the work ;of Primary Fishermen Co-operative Societies.

ix. Developing the socio-economic condition of the Fishermen by including them in group Accidental Insurance Scheme, providing the assistance to the poor fishermen under Low Cost House under National Welfare for fisher folk.
