Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
To work for the development of livestock resources in the District to contribute in Rural economy through enhanced milk, meat & egg production. To provide additional income to resource pour through modern live stock farming practices. To generate employment & self employment opportunity. To protect the livestock wealth & community health of the District.
2. Mission/ Vision:
To create superior & healthy live stock in the District to augment milk, meat & egg production etc. both through mass production & production by mass in coming years to strengthen the rural economy, to enhance the per-capital availability of livestock products so as to reach national average with the demographic changes, to establish livestock keeping as an important income generating sector & livelihood sector in the district.
3. Brief History of Public Authority:
After re-organisation of the field institutions of this department during 1983 this Office was headed by Sub Divisional Vety. Offifer, Nabarangpur. Consequently as per Notification of the Government of Odisha the post has been up-graded as Chief District Vety. Officer, Nabarangpur with effect from 01.04.2008 with no sub-ordinate Offices.
4. Duties of the Public Authority:
Implementation, Supervision, Monitoring of various animal husbandry activities & programmes undertaken by State Govt. & Central Govt. from village level to district level through various field institutions on their tech. aspects in animal health care & disease prevention.
5. Arrangements made for seeking Public Participation:
Animal Health camps, Deworming camps, Awareness camps, skill up gradation training programmes etc. are organized for seeking public participation.
6. Expectations from Public:
Co-operation, contributions & participation are expected from public which enhance the effectiveness & efficiencies of the public authority.
7. Administrative set up:
Office of the Chief Distriact Veterinary Office, Nabarangpur.
8. Working hours for Office:
Morning Office: 7.00 AM to 1.00 PM.Day Office: 10 AM to 5 PM.
9. Monitoring Mechanism:
CDVO Monitors the works of VASs/ AVASs/ LIs/ VTs & other field staff at District level.
10. Grievance Redress Mechanism:
According to the merit of Grievances, the matter is decided at District Level or forwarded to the higher quarter for finalization/ Decision.
