Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aim & Objectives of the Organization:
i) To survey the pisciculture ponds.ii) To arrange lease of Public/ G.P. tanks.iii) To develop new water resources through bankable and non-bankable scheme.iv) To provide quality seed through Government farm & private seed producers.v) To enhance the fish production.vi) To impart training to fish farmers on modern technology for enhancing fish production.vii) To develop fisheries in Reservoir & MIPS. Organize Fishermen's Primary Co-operative societies and strengthen them.viii) To provide subsidy to FFDA fish farmers.ix) Provide short term credit linkage like K.C.C to the fish farmer by babk through FFDA.x) Provide multipurpose farm ponds under MGNREGS.
2. Mission/ Vision:
To be a leader in a state in containable management and development of Culture fisheries and in providing the livelihood, Socio-economic status, Safety welfare of the fisheries through development and application of viable and sustainable, echo friendly strategy and programme. Acting as Secretary, Management Society for management of Hirakud, Hatianala & Jamunala Reservoir.
3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
The fishery office in the district came into existence with effect from 1.03.1996.

5. Working Hours both for Office & Public:
10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. except Sunday & Government holidays.
6. Public Interaction, if any:
Every working day interaction with fish farmers. Co-operative personnels and officials linked with fisheries.
7. Grievance Redress and Mechanism:
Grievance cell of this office is being functioning every Saturday (Except 2nd Saturday) from 10.30 A.M. to 1.30 P.M. in the office chamber of A.D.F-cum-C.E.O, F.F.D.A, Jharsuguda.
