Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

Overall administration of the district on Animal Husbandry Sector,

Mission/ Vision:

• Smooth financial transaction and proper utilization of Govt. money
• Supervision and monitoring of Animal Husbandry activities of district.
• Implementation of anti-poverty and self employment programmes in the district on Animal Husbandry Sector.
• Monitoring different programmes of Animal Husbandry Sector for development of Socio-economic condition of general.

Brief History and Background for its Establishment:

After reorganization of the department in the 1984 the Chief District Veterinary Officer, Kalahandi is functioning at Bhawanipatna, being the Head of Animal Husbandry Sector in the district.

Organization Chart:

The District office is functioning in a RCC roofed house of 8 rooms located at Purunapada, Bhawanipatna since 1952.

Allocation of Business :

• All cash transaction of district office including DLRDS funds
• Accounts of monetary transaction
• Indent of forms and stationary
• Stock & store of articles, medicines vaccines and furniture
• Supply of Liquid Nitrogen and Semen Straw to field Artificial Insemination Centers of the district
• Account of Govt. vehicle of the district

Duties to be Performed to Achieve the Mission :

1. One Head Clerk is engaged for supervision of all kinds of official business and dealing with Audit reports
2. One Senior Clerk is engaged for district establishment
3. One Junior Clerk is engaged for Accounts Section. and Development section
4. One Junior Clerk is engaged for Issue and receive section.
5. The work is being performed under the direct supervision of CDVO, Kalahandi

Details of Service Rendered :

Supervision and monitoring of Artificial Insemination and Breeding progremme of the district, control and eradication of animal diseases, disease survillance of large animals and small animals, fodder development and minikit programme, sample survey and animal census programme, procurement and distribution of medicines and vaccines. Feed progrmmes under RLTAP to feed C.B.calves owned by BPL and APL farmers of the district.
