Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:

    To keep the Accounts of Receipt and Payment of Government in the District.

2. Mission/ Vision:

    To keep the Accounts of Receipt and Payment of Government in the District.

3. History & Background of Its Establishment:

    This District Treasury is upgraded from Sub-Treasury to District Treasury w.e.f. 1.4.1994 and functioning in own Departmental Building.

4. Duties Performed:

The duties performed are as follows.

a) Passing of Establishment bills and Cheque of different DDOs.

b) Payment of Pension to different Pensioners.

c) Selling of Judicial and Non-Judicial Stamps to Stamp Vendors.

d) Accounting Government Receipt and Payment in the District.

e) Passing of Challans.

5. Main Activities/ Functions:

    To keep the Accounts of Receipt and Payment of Government in the District.

6. Details of Services Rendered:

    To keep the Accounts of Receipt and Payment of Government in the District.

7. Organizational Structure:

    This Organization is headed by The Director of Treasuries and Inspection, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. Addl. Director of Treasuries, Deputy Director of Treasuries and Asst. Director of Treasuries are functioning in the D.T.I. BBSR.

    There are 30 nos. of District Treasuries headed by Treasury Officers and functioning in 30 nos. of District head quarter. Further there are also Sub-Treasuries under the District Treasuries. There are 5 nos. of Special Treasuries functioning  in the places like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhempur, Rourkela and Joypur.

8. Grievance Redresses Mechanism:

    The grievance is disposed by the the Treasury Officer on the spot, if not possible necessary correspondence is made with the Concerned Authorities to redress the grievances.
