Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

     The Aim and Objectives of this organization is to collect and safe guard of the Government Revenue. Besides the Government Revenue, the main objective is to check the illicit distillated liquor which comes irreparable loss to the human being.

2) Mission/ Vision:

     The vision of this organization is to collect revenue basing on the guide lines issued for time to time by government of Odisha, Excise Department and also Excise commissioner, odisha, Cuttack. In order to check I.D. Liquor, Rampant raid programmes are under taken.

3) Brief History and background for its establishment:

    At the out set, Government of Odisha, Excise Department is the principal Department. Below the rank, Excise commissioner is the nodal agency to implement the Government policies through the district functions at the below.

     At the district level Supdt. of Excise is the district level as every. There is office of the supdt. of Excise at District level.

     There are one Supdt. Of Excise, One Inspector of Excise, Three S.I. Of Excise, Three A.S.I of Excise and 21 Excise constable, one head clerk, one junior clerk, One Excise Driver and one choukidar posts have been sanctioned to this district establishment. The district collector is the district nodal authority to supervise the work of this organization.

4) Organization Chart:

     For smooth management of the organization, the entire district is divided under three chargers viz. (1) paralakhemundi (2) Kasinagar (3) R. Udayagiri. Each charge is under the control of one Sub-inspector of Excise.
