1. History and Background of its Establishment:
This is a Govt. organization defined as "State Excise" Department under the control of Govt. in Excise Dept./ Excise Commissioner, Odisha. This office is a sub ordinate office which is functioning in this district since inception of the district regarding function and duties. It is stated that duties are performed as per the Govt. Act, rules and regulation and primarily includes collection of Excise revenue from liquor and contrabands to control manufacture distribution of Govt. approved liquor and conducting enforcement to prevent/ restrict sale of illicit liquor and illicit contraband articles.
