Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]
1) Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
a. To augment revenue of the State Ex-chequer.
b. To eradicate Excise crime.
c. To provide Hygienic liquor for consumption.
d. Collection of Excise Revenue and Eradication of Excise Crimes.
e. To educate on De-addiction Renunciation of Spurious Liquor and Establishment of Safe Alcohol Standard.
2) Mission/ Vision:
a. Collection of Excise Revenue and Eradication of Excise Crimes.
b. To educate on De-addiction Renunciation of Spurious Liquor and Establishment of Safe Alcohol Standard.
3) Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
This office is functioning since 1993 after creation of new District from its mother district Cuttack.
4) Organization Structure:
Superintendent of Excise is in over all charges of District Excise Office, Jajpur. The Inspector of Excise is incharge of Jajpur Range Office. He looks after the works of Range/ District. Besides, there are 3 Charge Offices namely Jajpur Town Charge, Dolipur Charge & Dharmasala Charge in Jajpur District. One S.I. of Excise is kept incharge of the Charge Offices which are being supervise by Range Inspector of Excise and Superintendent of Excise. The detail of the Range and Charge Offices of the District as detailed below:
i. Range Office, Jajpur Town, At/Po/Dist.-Jajpur (Odisha)
ii. Charge Office, Jajpur Town, At/Po/Dist.-Jajpur (Odisha)
iii. Charge Office, Dolipur, At/Po.-Jajpur Road, Dist.-Jajpur (Odisha)
iv. Charge Office, Dharmasala, At/Po.-Jarka, Dist.-Jajpur (Odisha)
5) Duties of the Public Authority:
Superintendent of Excise is in over all charges of District Excise Office. He is the liasoning Officer between the Field Staff. He assists the Collector in Od Statutory works on Collection of Excise Revenue in the District. The Superintendent of Excise looks after all works of District Excise Office, Range and Charges. He takes action preventions of illegal liquor in the District.
6) Main Activities/ Functions of Public Authority:
The Public Authority has been entrusted with certain statutory words. He assist Collector of the District in all statutory words under Excise administrations. He looks after Collection of Excise Revenue, Settlement of new Excise Shops, Prevention of illegal/ illicit liquor in the district.
7) Details of Services Rendered:
a. Prohibition on entry of Non-duty paid and duplicate liquor in the District.
b. Sent Percent Collection of Excise Revenue.
c. Total utilization of Man Power.
8) Citizen's Interaction:
Positive suggestions are taken cared of Grievances of Citizen are mitigated through enforcement and consumption of liquor are given priority to.
