Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aim & objectives of the Organization: Aim & objective of the organization is to execute the repair and maintenance work of defunct gates, fabrication and erection of new gates in different Irrigation Project, Repair & Maintenance of machineries, preparation and fixation of upset price of un-serviceable machineries of different Medium Irrigation Projects and Major Irrigation Project in the District Bolangir, Nuapada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh and Sambalpur and all other work as per the direction of the Govt. 2) Mission/ Vision: It's mission is to attend proper quality of gate works of Medium Projects along with proper maintenance of machineries of vehicles of D.O.W.R. 3) Brief History and background for its establishment: This Division came in to existence with effective from August, 1980. It's functions from it's own building at Hirakud in Sambalpur District. It has four Sub-divisions namely. a) A.E.E.(M), Stores Sub-division No-I, Hirakud.b) A.E.E.(M), Stores Sub-division No-II, Hirakud.c) A.E.E.(M), Workshop Sub-division, Hirakud.d) A.E.(M), Security Sub-division, Hirakud. 4. Allocation of Business: As stipulated in OPWD code, CPWD Code, Treasury Rules, OGFR & Service Code. 5) Duties to be performed to achieve the mission: Duties include inspection of different projects of DOWR and take up gate works including repair and maintenance of different Hydraulic Gates. More over the machineries and vehicles are maintained in this division. 6) Details of Service rendered: Fabrication, Erection, Maintenance of various Hydraulic Gates of Medium Irrigation Projects along with maintenance of vehicles and machineries. 7) Postal Address of the Main office, Attached/ Subordinate Offices/ Field Units etc: (a) Division: Office of the Executive Engineer (M),Stores & Mechanical Division, HirakudDist: Sambalpur, Ph. No- 0663 2481228 8) Map of Office Location: Office situated in front of the Samaleswari Temple, Hirakud( On the way to Gandhi Minar of Hirakud Dam Project). 9) Working hours both for office & public: Office: 10 A.M. to 1.30 P.M. & 2.00 PM to 5 P.M. - Monday to SaturdayPublic: 4.00 P.M. to 5.00 PM -Monday to Saturday 10) Grievance Redress Mechanism: Public- from 4.00 PM to 5.00 PM of every Thursday and Saturday.
