Aims and objectives of the organization
Implementation of Rengali Right Bank Canal Project from RD 00 km to RD 79.00 km and from RD 79.00 km to RDd 95.00 km including Darpani & Narasinghpur Branch Canal by 2009-10 and 2012-2013 respectively. Apart from the above, implementation of Manjore Irrigation Project, maintenance and extension of existing Medium Irrigation Projects, namely, Sapua Badajore Irrigation Project, Aunli Irrigation Project, Derjang Irrigation Project, Dadaraghati Irrigation Project, Ramial Irrigation Project.
Mission / Vision: Statement of the Public Authority.
To provide 1,21,000 ha of irrigation in Dhenkanal, Angul, Jajpur and Cuttack districts through Right Bank Canal Project. Further, to an area of 32,153 ha through different medium irrigation project.
Brief History of the Public Authorities and context of its formation and back ground for its establishment
Office of the Superintending Engineer, Right Canal Circle, Dhenkal was upgraded as Chief Construction Engineer, Rengali Right Canal System, Dhenkanal vide DOWR Ir. NO.23454/WR dt. 26.6.97 and started functioning with effect from 19.07.97. Then, the office of the Chief Engineer & Basin Manager, Brahmani Right Basin, Dhenkanal was created vide Deptt. of Water Resources Ir. No.42847 dt. 06.12.97 in place of the Chief Construction Engineer, Rengali Right Canal System.

Allocation of Business
In the above administrative set up the business of the project, is allocated in the following manner.At the apex, the Chief Engineer & Basin Manager being the project authority exercises powers of head of Department as per codes for execution and maintenance of different Projects/Schemes of Brahmani Right Basin, Moreover he is the authority for budget controlling, tender finalization within financial limit as per stipulation etc. Two Superintending Engineers also exercises their power as per relevant code and exercise superintendence over 9 Division's in connection with works and establishment. The execution of works mainly executed by the Executive Engineer's , Asst. Engineer's and Junior Engineer's in-charge of work.
F.A. & C.A.O. is to maintain centralized accounting system of the Project. Executive Engineer, Q.C.Divn. is to ensure the quality of works under construction of the Project.
Spl. Land Acquisition Officer, Rengali Right Canal System is to process acquisition of Govt., Private & Forest land required for the project and to assist the Rehabilitation activities of the project affected people.
Duties to be performed to achieve the mission
To carry out the survey & investigation, Design and planning of different project components, Acquisition of Govt., Private & forest land for project implementation, Rehabilitation of project affected peoples, monitoring of progress of work in new projects/schemes.
Maintenance of existing projects, preparation of estimate, floating and acceptance of tender for execution of work.
