1) Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:
Supervision, Administration & Budget controlling authority of Satiguda Medium Irrigation Project and Potteru Irrigation Project & Balimela Dam (Jt) Project Chitrakonda.
2) Mission/ Vision Statement of the Public Authority:
Construction of Satiguda Medium Irrigation Project.Maintenance of Balimela Dam & Canal Works of Potteru Irrigation Project to provide Irrigation facilities in the District of Malkangiri.
3) Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:
Chief Engineer, Potteru Irrigation Project, Chitrakonda functioning with effect from 07.06.1980 subsequently Chief Engineer, Potteru Irrigation Project, Chitrakonda is redesignated to Chief Construction Engineer, Potteru Irrigation Project and with effect from 01.02.1998. 3 (Three) nos. of Divisional Officers are in charge to execute and inspect the works.
Executive Engineer, Earth Dam Division, Chitrakonda for Balimela Dam (Jt.) Project and Satiguda Irrigation Project, Malkangiri. Executive Engineer, Potteru Irrigation Division Balimela and Executive Engieer, Potteru Canal Division No. III M.V.-79 for Potteru Irrigation Project works. The A.F.A., B.D.P. (P.I.P. Unit) Chitrakonda is controlling the financial matters of Potteru Irrigation Project.
Chief Construction Engineer, Potteru Irrigation Project, Balimela is the inspecting, administrative and Budget controlling authority of Satiguda Medium Irrigation Project and Potteru Irrigation Project and Balimela Dam (Jt.) Project, Chitrakonda.
4) Duties of the Public Authority:
Administrative and Budget controlling authority of Satiguda Irrigation Project, Potteru Irrigation Project and Balimela Dam (Jt.) Project, Chitrakonda.
5) Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
Construction of Satiguda Medium Irrigation Project, Balimela Dam Project, Dyke, Canal System and repair and maintenance of Balimela Dam, Canal Works of Potteru Irrigation Project.
6) List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write up on them:
Construction of Satiguda Dam, Balimela Dam and Potteru Irrigation Project Canal maintenance works for providing Irrigation facility to 61.034 Ha. of land.Formation of Pani Panchayat for smooth distribution of water to farmers.
