In order to protect the interests of Government, this 'Arbitration tribunal' constituted in the year-1979, consisting of three qualified Members, under the provision of Arbitration Tribunal rules-1979, instead of indiscriminate appointment of person as Arbitrators, more often than not, the interest of Govt. and other body have suffered.
All Arbitration proceedings relating to a dispute, where the state Govt., a local or other authority controlled by the State Govt. a statutary corporation or a Govt. company is a party to dispute will be adjudicate by the tribunal as per saving clause of Sec.-85 of Arbitration and conciliation Act-1996 after repeal of the Arbitration Act-1940 .
