Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority : Supervision, Administration & Budget Controlling Authority of Telengiri Medium Irrigation Project and Upper Kolab Project. 2) Mission/ Vision Statement of the Public Authority: Construction of Telengiri Medium Irrigation Project & Maintenance of Upper Kolab Dam Canal Works of Upper Kolab Project and to provide Irrigation facilities in the District of Koraput. 3) Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation: Superintending Engineer, Upper Kolab Project, Bariniput functioning with effect from 08.11.1976. Subsequently Superintending Engineer, Upper Kolab Project, Bariniput is redesignated to Chief Construction Engineer. Upper Kolab Project with effect from 24.01.2008. Chief Construction Engineer, UKP has taken over the charges from Chief Egineer, Upper Indravati Irrigation Project with effect from on 24.1.08 for smooth running of work of Telengiri Irrigation Project and Upper Kolab Project. 4 nos. of Divisional Officers are in charge to execute and inspect the works. Executive Engineer, Telengiri Head Works Division, Ambaguda, Executive Engineer, Telengiri Canal Division and L.A. & R.R.O., Koraput are incharge of Telengiri Irrigation Project. The Executive Engineer, U.K. Head Works Division, Kolabnagar & Executive Engieer, U.K. Irrigation Division No. IV, Borigumma are incharge of Upper Kolab Project works. The A.F.A., UKP Bariniput is controlling the financial matter Upper Kolab Project. Chief Construction Engineer, Upper Kolab Project, Bariniput is the inspecting, Administrative and Budget Controlling Authority of Telengiri Medium Irrigation Project and Upper Kolab Project. 4) Duties of the Public Authority: Administrative and Budget controlling authority of Telengiri Irrigation Project and Upper Kolab Project. 5) Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority: Construction of Telengiri Medium Irrigation Project, Dam, Dyke, Canal System and repair and maintenance of Upper Kolab Dam, Canal Works of Upper Kolab Project. 6) List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write up on them: Construction of Telengiri Dam and Upper Kolab Dam and Canal maintenance and also providing Irrigation facility of 43818 Ha. of Land formation of Pani Panchayat for smooth distribution of water to farmers. Payment of compensation to the displaced persons and rehabilitation and resettlement works of Telengiri Medium Irrigation Project Construction of spillway, Dykes. 7) Organizational structure diagram at various levels namely State, Directorate, Region, District, Block etc. (whichever is applicable): i) State: Odisha, Region: Koraput, Dist.- Koraput.ii) Block: Jeypore/ Borigumma/ Kotpad/ Nabarangpur.
