Objective / Purpose of the Public Authority:
Implementation of Upper Indravati Irrigation Project by 2011-2012
Mission / Vision Statement of the Public Authority:
To provide irrigation facilities to the tune of 1, 01,062 Ha in the draught prone District of Kalahandi.
Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:
Office of the Chief Engineer, Upper Indravati Irrigation Project, at/P.O. Khatiguda, Dist. Nabarangpur was created vide Irrigation Department Resolution No.20540 dt.29.07.1993 and started functioning with effect from 01.04.1993.
Duties of the Public Authority:
To carry out the survey and investigation, Design and planning of different project components, Acquisition of Government, private and Forestland for project implementation. Rehabilitation of Project affected peoples Monitoring of progress work, preparation of Estimates, floating and acceptance of tender for execution of the work.
Main Activities / Functions of then Public Authority:
Implementation of Upper Indravati Irrigation Project including its distribution system to provide irrigation facilities to the area coming under project ayacut in the district of Kalahandi.
