Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

     The Asst. Director of Textiles, Sundargarh comes under Department of Textiles & Handloom, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sundargarh District are coming under the Jurisdiction of the Asst  Director of Textiles, Sundargarh. The District is popularly known as the land of weaver, where the sector directly and in directly employs the weavers of these Dist., through weavers cooperative societies and cluster development Programme. This Handloom sector in this District has always played a vital role for the development of socio-economic condition of the weavsrs. The weavers are provided yarn and conversion charges by the P.W.C.S. and they are taking responsibility for marketing of their products. Both state and Central Govt. provides funds for development of Handloom Sector.

2) Mission & Vision:

     This office has been established since 1/2/1962 and the ADT-cum-ARCS is the head of the office. This has also additional function as principal officer of the weavers cooperative societies, coming under Sambalpur and Sundargarh District.

3) Brief History & Background of the Establishment:

     This office is under the direct control of the DTH (O) BBSR and also under the super vision of Dist. Administration. This establishment is functioning from 1.2.1962 to look after the Handloom activities of both Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Sundargarh District. From its inception this office till 1982 it was functioning under won Building

4) Organization Chart:

    This is the O/o the A.D.T., Sundargarh-cum-A.R.C.S. (Asst. Register-Co-op Societies). The Organization deals with:

a. Establishment section
b. Account Section
c. Technical section
d. Legal Section
e. Banking Section 
f. Statistical Section
g. Diary, Dispatch & Type Section
h. General Correspondence Misc. Section

5) Function:

a. Allocation of Business:

    To achieve the aims and object of the office both the Tech. & Non-Tech. Staff have been entrusted for smooth management of the office works as well as to streamline the field functionaries but in view of financial and physical abolition of base level post each staff is soldered with multiple activities under the supervision of Head Clerk, weaving supervision and SARCS. Till now 06 nos. of Inspector and 1 nos. of weaving mystery are laying vacant.

(i) Establishment Section:

    The ESFF Section is dealt by a senior clerk under the direct super vision of Head Clerk. He is dealing with personal file of the staff with sanction of C.L., E.L. increment etc with preparation of pension paper, fixation of pay etc of the staff only.
