Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Name of the Organization:
District Welfare Office, Collectorate, Balasore.
2. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
This office is a part of Collectorate, Balasore and related to Govt. of Odisha, ST & SC Development, Department, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. This is the Nodal Department for formulating plans, policies and programmes for development of ST/SC persons in the District through this office.
3. Grievance Redress Mechanism:
Collectorate Grievance cell (Gl & Misc.) Section held on each Saturday.
4. Working hours both for office and public:
Day Office- 10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M
Morning Office- 7.00 A.M to 1.00 P.M
The following schemes/ matters are dealt in this office:
a) Supervision and Monitoring of 40 SSD School i.e. 3 High Schools, 4 Residential Sevashram, 2 Ashram School, 31 Sevashram.b) Pre Matric Scholarship to the student of SSD Schools.c) Post Matric Scholarship to SC/ST student of all added & recognized Educational/ Technical and other equivalent institutions of this District.d) Merit-cum-Poverty Scholarship to the student of OBC & SEBC categorye) Scholarship to the students of OBC & Minorities categories.f) Pre- Matric Scholarship to the students whose parents are engaged in unclean occupation.g) Atrocity case matter (on SC/ST people)h) Inter caste Marriage between SC & General.i) Forest Right matter i.e issue of patta to the eligible SC/ST person under Forest Right Act.j) ORV Act matter.k) Loan to SEBC & Minority people.l) Project proposal of NGOs and VOs.
