1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
The Kendrapara District occupies an important place in the country having sizeable Concentration of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe population. SC & ST population are 2,67,186 & 6,822 as per 2001 census respectively.
The District Welfare Office, Kendrapara functions as a Nodal Field Office of the ST & SC Development Department, Odisha and worked out the plans & programmes of the State Government for Development of ST, SC and Backward Classes & Minority Community.
2. Mission/ Vision:
The Mission/ Vision of District Welfare Officer, Kendrapara is for the all-round development of the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and Minority Community visa vis the other community.
A. Programmes for their Socio-economic Development.
B. Programmes for Educational Development.
C. Improvement of the Quality of Life.
3. History and Background for its Establishment:
The District Welfare Office, Kendrapara is started functioning from 6.12.1993 at Kendrapara District Headquarter under control of Collector, Kendrapara and implement the orders of the Government in ST & SC Development Department in connection with to solve problems of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC & Minorities.
