Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aim & Objectives of the Organization:

     The District Sports Office, function as a via media in the District in promoting of sports, games and youth affairs at various levels so as to awaken the inherent talents of boys and girls from grass rout level the sports office at district level is purely responsible in carrying out the objectives and guide lines of Governments to home in every nook and corner of this District.

2. Mission and Vision:

     This official organization functions on behalf of Government in chalking out the programmes from grass rout level and to bring up physical up liftment of talented participants.

3. Brief history and Background for its establishment:

     The State Government has set up his own organization with Directorate, Sports and Youth Services, Odisha, Bhubaneswar at State headquarters and offices at the District Level.

     The sports office at District level function with the overall supervision of one DSO and other staff under the direct control of officers as indicated below:

5.  Allocation of Business:

     The District Sports Office is helping in organizing different sports activities and allied duties from Block level to District level

i) Block and District level Talent Scouting.
ii) District level Rural Sports
iii) Districts level women sports
iv) District level Youth Festival
v) Block level Rural Sports/ Women's Sports/ Youth festival etc.
vi) Supervision of PYKKA Center from GP level to District level
vii) Organization of Sports day
viii) Grant to Small Sports Association
ix) Functioning of PYKKA cell at district level.
x) Organization of youth camps / Integration camps/ Youth awareness camps/ youth award schemes.
xi) One in charge Jr. Clerk is the custodian of files registers ets.
xii) Organizing of sports advisory committee meetings from block level to District level.
xiii) Organization of summer coaching camps.
