1) Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
To promote Sports & games in the district and implement various Schemes of Govt.
2) Mission/ Vision:
To improve the performance of Sports person and establish the District as one of the leading sports in the State.
3) Brief History and Background for its establishment:
With a view to broad base Sports activities, the district level post of DSO was created in the year 1975 and since this Office has been functioning as an integral part of District Administration.
4) Allocation of Business:
i) To organiza Block/ Dist. Level Sports Cometition.
ii) To aid Dist. Level Sports association.
iii) To create and develop infrastructure at Rural areas as well as Dist. Headquarter.
iv) To recommend small Sports Association for financial assistance.
v) To organize Youth activities.
vi) To conduct talent scouting for admission of talent in Sports Hostels.
5) Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:
i) To act as Nodal Officer.
ii) To keep close liaison with Panchayat and Block functionaries/ Educational institutions/ Sports Clubs/ N.G.O.s etc. and involve them in a Programme/ activities.
iii) Timely execution of various programmes.
6) Details of Services Rendered:
i) To create mass awareness and broad base Sports and games in the dist.
ii) Provided opportunity to rural and urban talents for admission in to Sports Hostels.
iii) Provided Sports talent scholarship forms of Static Govt./ SAI and recommended their names for availing the same.
iv) Recommended Small Sports Associations for financial assistance.
v) Recommended the names for Sports Pension etc.
