6) Functions and Duties:
The first and foremost duties of District Inspector of Schools is to:
i) Monitor functioning of primary & upper primary school located within education district.ii) Appoint and transfer the teachers for better education.iii) Provide/ facilitate education to all children up to Class-VII.iv) Draw & disburse the salary of teaching and non-teaching staff.v) Administrator & supervise the work of S.I. of Schools and teachers within education district.
This office is running under Jagatsinghpur Education Circle and direct control of the Director, Elementary Education, Odisha, Bhubaneswar of School & Mass Education Department, Govt. of Odisha.
