1. About the Organization:
Puri Educational Circle came into existence in the year 1960 comprising of three districts of Odisha i.e. Puri/ Ganjam and Boudh and Phulbani. In the year 1971, Boudh and Phulbani Educational Circle created and bifurcated from Puri Educational Circle and in the year 1990, Khurdha Education Educational Circle was created and separated from Puri Educational Circle. The Present Office of the Inspector of Schools is now functioning in a old government building, behind the Catholic Church, Puri.
2. Geographical Situation:
This Education Circle is situated at the holy place of Lord Jagannath with the following Geographical Situation:
North Latitude: 19 degree 28 minutes and 2 degree 11 minutes
East Longitude: 85 degree 1 minute and 86 degree 25 minutes
This District is surrounded by Cuttack in the East, Khurdha and Ganjam in West and Bay of Bengal in South and South East.
3. Block and Municipalities:
Puri Education Circle comprised 11 Blocks, 1 Municipality and 3 N.A.C.s
A. Blocks:
a) Puri Sadar, b) Satyabadi, c) Brahmagiri, d) Krushnaprasad, e) Kanas, f) delang, g) Pipili, h) Nimapara, i) Gop, j) Kakatpur, K) Astarang
B. Municipality: Puri
C) N.A.C.s : a) Pipili, b) Nimapara, c) Konark
