Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:

    The aim & objective of the organization is to Improve the Condition of the Rural Roads & Buildings as well as Maintenance of the Same.

2. Brief History & Background for its Establishment:

    It is a District Level office for Rural Works Organization under the Control of Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Govt. Rural Development Deptt. (O), Bhubaneswar & under the immediate Control of Superintending Engineer, Rural Works Circle, Berhampur. The Executive Engineer is the controlling Officer of Establishment of Rural Works Division, No.-I, Ganjam, Berhampur & sub-ordinate staff comprising Assistant Engineers in Rural Works Sub-Division & Junior Engineer in Rural Works Sections.

3. Allocation of Business:

This office has been entrusted with the work of correspondence relating to the following subjects:

a) Preparation of D.P.R. Survey & Investigation works, Execution & Supervision of Field works for Improvement & Maintenance of Rural Roads & Buildings.
b) Preparation of bills & Payment thereof.
c) Circulars, Rules & Orders.
d) Report & Returns.
e) Answer to the Assembly questions.
f) Maintenance of Audit paras & objections.
g) Compliance of Petitions.
h) Issue & Receipt of the Letter of the Office.
i) Preparation of Budget, Establishment & Drawl of Salary bills, & Other bills of the Establishment.
j) Review of Performance/ Progress of Field works.
k) Maintenance of R.T.I, Records & Submission of Information.

4. Details of Service Rendered:

    This R.W. Division office, All R.W. Sub-Divisions & R.W. Sections under this division deals with all the office & field works of Rural Development Deptt. as mentioned in Item-4 above.

5. Postal Address of the Office:

    The postal address of this office is Rural Works Division, No.-I, Ganjam, Berhampur-10, Engineering school road.

6. Working hours both for Office & Public:

    Office functions between 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. with a lunch break between 1.30 P.M. to 2.00 P.M. during day office & from 7.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. during morning office. On all working days as per Govt. Calendar printed & published by the Govt. of Odisha for each calendar year. However Officer & Employees are available to dispose off the day's assignment upto an extended hour as per requirement.

The public is cordially accepted to extend the desired assistance.
