1) Brief History of the Public Authority and context of its participation:

The Geographical area of RWS&S Division, Bhadrak is spread over Bhadrak and Chandbali Civil Sub-Division comprising 7 Blocks of Bhadrak District i.e. Bhadrak, Dhamnagar, Bonth, Bhandaripokhari, Basudevpur, Tihidi, Chandbali, covering 193 Gram Panchayats.

2) Mission/ Vision Statement of the public authority:

This Division is looking after the drinking water supply of rural areas.

3) List of services being provided by the public authority:

The basic services are best managed locally and with this view, management of rural drinking water supply has been transferred to the PRIs w.e.f. 21.10.2006. Now this Division is mostly implementing new drinking water supply schemes and assisting the PRIs for operation and maintenance of these assets. Drinking water supply to rural community is made mostly through hand pump tube wells. Besides this, drinking water supply to rural community is made through piped water supply projects in few large habitations/ villages. This Division is functioning since 1/5/2006.
