Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

    The main aim and objectives of this organization is to provide "potable drinking  Water" to the rural habitants of jagatsinghpur District through spot sources, hand Pump tube wells and piped tube wells and piped water supply. Total sanitation work by motivating the rural people to construct and use toilets to make TSC programme fully success.

2. Mission/Vision:

    To provide potable drinking water & Sanitation facilities in 1291 nos. of revenue villages as well as to Govt. rural schools and AWC of Jagatsinghpur district.

3. Brief history and ground for its Establishment:

    Office of the Executive Engineer, RWS&S Division, and Jagatsinghpur has been created Vide Order No. 5030/RD Dt. 15.04.2006 of Rural Development Department,Government Odisha and started functioning with effect from 01.05.2006.

    The Executive Engineer exercises his powers as per relevant code in matters of works & establishment of the Division, Organize & supervises the execution of works executed by the Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers in-charge of the works according to the terms of the contract.

6. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:

    To carry out the Survey, Investigation and preparation of schemes, Execution of drinking water projects digging of hand pump tube wells to provide potable drinking water to rural habitants of Jagatsinghpur district.
    Motivation and Implementation of total sanitation campaign in rural areas of jagatsinghpur District.

7. Details of Services Rendered:

1) 156 nos of Rural Piped Water Supply Projects completed.
2) 10829 nos.Hand pumps tube wells are running in the district.
3) 93195 nos. of Individual House hold latrine completed.
4) 2429 Units of Latrine completed in rural Govt. Schools.
