Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

a. Monitor all the Developmental activities of the District.

b. Hearing of Public Grievances.

c. Maintenance of Law and order Situation in the District.

d. Supervision of Social welfare activities and Welfare activities of SC & ST Communities.

e. Monitoring and Augmenting Revenue Collection.

f. Distribution of essential Commodities, monitoring Public distribution system.

g. Monitoring rescue Operation and Providing assistance during emergency like Flood, Drought, fire accidents etc.

h. Monitoring and disposal of Revenue Cases.

i. Supervision & inspection of Sub-ordinate Offices, Police Stations, Jails.

j. Conducting Elections and maintenance of Electoral Roll.

2. Mission/ Vision of the Public Authority:

i. Mission is to ensure Smooth functioning of the Government agencies according to the Norms and Rules and to Provide targeted Service to the People of the District.

ii. Ensuring Social Justice to all Sections of the Society.

iii. Administering Law and Order for Peaceful living.

iv. Overall Well being of the People like Health, Sanitation, Education, Economic development.

3. Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:

Collectorate, Nuapada is functioning since 1993 after Bifurcation of Kalahandi District. The Subdivision Nuapada is Converted to a New District in 1993.
