Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aims and objectives of the Organization: i) Development Section: Monitoring of Development works in the District. ii) Emergency Section: The Emergency Section is one of the important sections of Collectorate, which oversees the Disaster Preparedness, Disaster response & Disaster Mitigation measures. Khordha District has been witness to continuous major Disasters since Super Cyclone'99, followed by devastating Flood in 2001 & 2003 and Droughts in 2000 & 2002. The Section has over these years put into practice preparedness measures for minimizing the response time in times of Natural Calamities. iii) Land Acquisition Section: It is generally established to safeguard the interest of Govt. as well as people of the area. Smooth implementation of the land acquisition Act & Rules & state Govt. policies of Rehabilitation & resettlement matters. iv) Nizarat Section: To draw and disburse the salaries of the officers and staff of the Collectorate. To draw the other contingency funds and disburse to proper quarter. Supply or forms and stationary to the sections of the Collectorate after receipt from Govt. press. Disposal of condemned Motor vehicle of the Collectorate and sub-ordinate offices of the District through public action. Reservation of Conference hall. Reservation of Special Circuit House as per Rule Odisha Circuit House and Inspection Bungalows rule, 1985. v) Revenue Section: Times disposal of all Revenue matters which are processd/ recommended by Subordinate Officers is the major objective of the Dist. Revenue Section. The revenue court matter of ADM & Collector are also dealt in this Section. 2) Mission/ Vision: i) Development Section: To make co-ordination of line department with district administration and Govt. ii) Emergency Section: To laise and coordinate with all the sub-ordinate offices as well as the line department District level offices for effective Disaster Preparedness, Response and Mitigation in times of Natural Calamities. iii) Land Acquisition Section: To promote industrialization and to ensure socio-economic growth of the public. 3) Brief History and background for its establishment: i) Development Section: The office deals with transfer/posting of JE and PAs of the district and deals all types of development files of the district.
