Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

The main function of the District Planning Office, Kendrapara is to formulate by Five Year Perspective Plan and Annual Plan for the district by consolidating the plans prepared by Panchayat Bodies, Urban Local Bodies and District Level Officers of the line departments. The draft plan documents are approved by the District Planning Committee, which is headed by a Minister of the Stats Cabinet. In the meantime, the District Annual Plan for the year 2009-10 and 2010-11 has already been approved by the District Planning Committee, Kendrapara. Projects under MPLADS and ML ALA D funds are being sanctioned by this office on the basis of the recommendation of the concerned MPs and MLAs as per the guidelines of the scheme. MPLAD Scheme is being implemented in the District since 1993-94 and MLALAD funds since- 1997-98. Besides. Government in Planning & Coordination Department sanction projects under Special Problem Funds which is being implemented in the district since 1997-98. The funds under MPLADS is kept in this office in the joint account of District Collector and District Planning Officer where as funds under MLALAD Scheme and Special Problem funds are being kept in DRDA, Kendrapara. At present the office is functioning in a rented building in the locality of Madhapur under Kendrapara Municipality at a monthly rent of Rs. 2600/- and the office functions from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. in every working days.
