Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aims and objectives of the Organization: The aim & objectives of this office is to formulation of the Comprehensive District Annual Plan (C-DAP)/ Perspective Plan & Five Year Plan. Monitoring & Evolution of different developmental schemes assigned by Planning & Co-ordination Department. To provide secretarial support to District Planning Committee. Besides, this office is dealing with some developmental schemes such as MPLAD, MLALAD, WODC, Biju KBK, IAP, RLTAP etc. 2) Mission and Vision: The mission of this office is to achieve all-round socio-economic development of the district by preparing District (Annual/ Five year) Plans, taking into account the local area felt needs & resources and also by implementing various developmental schemes such as MLALADS, MPLADS, BIJU KBK, IAP RLTAP and WODC etc. . 3) Brief History and back ground for its establishment: This Office, initially known as District Planning Unit with Assistant Director as the head of the Office, was established in February, 1984, to prepare draft district Plan, monitoring, evaluation of District sector schemes. Subsequently, the office was upgraded to District Planning & Development Office with Chief Planning & Development Officer (CPDO), a Senior Class-I Officer, as the Head of the Office. The District Planning Committee & Development is the apex body to approve the draft district plan. After abolition of the post of Chief Planning District Officer (CPDO), it was again renamed as District Planning Office. Now this office has upgraded and re-designated as District Planning & Monitoring Unit headed by Deputy Director (Planning & Statistics) Balangir. 4) Allocation of Business: Sl. 5) Duties to be performed to achieve the Mission:
Implementation of developmental plans and programmes, Regular monitoring, Supervision, Inspection, Field visit, Review meetings and preparation of plans, DPC election & Meetings.
