1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has traditionally been the principal organ at the District level to over see the implementation of different anti poverty programmes. Eradication of rural poverty through successful implementation of different anti poverty programmes of the Ministry of Rural Development as well as State sponsored plan is the aim of this organization.
2. Mission / Vision:
Ameliorate the economic condition of the poor in rural areas by implementing the scheme/ programs of Govt. and by involving the people as well as PRIs members in the district.
3. History & Background of its Establishment:
DRDA Subarnapur came into existence after creation of a new district bifurcated from Bolangir District with effect from 1.4.1993 vide notification No.14210/ Rev. Dated 27.03.1993 of Govt. of Revenue Department & Exercise Deptt.. It is registered as District Rural Development Agency , Subarnapur vide Regd. No. SNP-27/1993-94 dt. 12.01.1994. The Jurisdiction of this Agency is comprised of 2 Sub-Divisions, 6 Blocks and 96 G.P.s. There are 979 Revenue Villages having 541835 population as per 2001 Census out of which 501767 rural and 40068 urban population.

Monitoring and supervision, report/ return.

APD (Panchayat)
To oversee Panchayat related matter.

APD (Technical)
In-charge of all technical matters dealt in DRDA relating to engineering and works activities under the supervision of Addl. PD(Tech.)
5. Duties to be Performed to Achieve the Mission:
Regular monitoring, Supervision, Inspection, Field visit, Review, Conduct of meeting and Call for report return.
6. Details of Services Rendered:
i) Regular monitoring, Supervision, Inspection, Field visit, Review, Conduct of meeting and Call for report return. ii) Food security through wage employment, Self employment, Dwelling houses, rural connectivity, Marketing facility, Creation of Irrigation potentiality.
7. Citizens Interaction:
Governing Body Meeting, District Vigilance and monitoring committee Meeting.
