1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
The main aim and objective of the organization is ot monitor, Supervision of the Gram Panchayat administration in the district.
2. Mission/ Vision:
To ensure utilization of funds, implementation development works, proper working of Gram Panchayats in the G.Ps.
3. Brief History of the public Authority and Context of its formation:
District Pancahayat Office headed by the District Panchayat Officer is the part and parcel of the Collectorate and functioning on order to assist the Collector in respect of G.P. Administration. District Panchayat at Officer is appointed by the Director, Panchayatiraj Dept., Govt. of Odisha.
4. Duties of the Public Authority:
Inspection, supervision of G.P. Offices, monitor proper working of the Gram Panchayats and assist the collector of the district in all statutory works as provided in Odisha Gram Panchayat Act, 1964, O.G.P. Rules 1968 and Odisha G.P./ P.S./ Z.P. Election Rules.
5. Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
i) Inspection of G.P. Offices ii) Supervision on working of the G.Ps and Developmental activities of the G.Ps.iii) Assist in conduct of PRI Election/ By-Election.iv) Disbursement of Grant-in-aids received from the Govt.v) Submission of Utilization Certificate on the Grant-in-aids released to G,Ps.vi) Establishment matters relating to the staff of District Panchayat Office.vii) Establishment matters on field officials like GPEO/PA and VLWs.viii) Training Capacity building programme of PRI members.
