Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization: Panchayat Samiti is an Intermediary body of 3-Tire Panchayat Raj Institution, established through enactment of legislation i.e. The Odisha Gram Panchayat Act 1962. As an institution of self Govt. betterment of rural life is the main aims & objective aim of the organization. This institution is instrumental in bringing changes in rural areas. To supervise & conduct the PRI Election. 2. Mission/ Vision: a) To achieve rural prosperity and to ensure quality life and qualitative livelihood for the rural poor.b) To implement schemes for the upliftment of rural poor. 3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment: An act was enacted by the state legislature in the Tenth year of the Republic of India i.e.1960 to establish District Panchayat Office in the state of Odisha. 4. Allocation of Business: Supervision of 3-Tire PRIs Election, that is Sarpanch Samiti member & Zila parisad. 5. Postal Address of the main Office, Attached/ Subordinate Office/ Field units etc.: District Panchayat Office, jharsugudaAt/Po.-JharsugudaDist.-JharsugudaPin-768204 6. Grievance Redresses Mechanism: Every working Saturday is grievance day to hear the grievance of Public. 7. Working Hours both for Office and Public: From 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. (Except Sunday, Second Saturday and public Holidays)
